Drawing 5A: The “Holy Land”
The land of Palestine today is “holy” to several religions. In this lesson, we will draw this area and learn about the centuries-old clash between Muslims and European “Christians.” (“Christians” must be put into quotes because the Crusaders of this era did not think or act like followers of Christ. They were basically politicians dressed in the disguise of religion.)
In the activity section, you will get to draw your own Medieval “T-O” map, and you’ll also learn about what Europeans thought people in far away lands looked like.
