Drawing 28A: Mercator projection (North America)

Here is another way you can project the earth onto a flat surface.  This projection was used for maps in classrooms in the late 1900s, so most older adults grew up looking at Mercator projection maps.  This projection can make the pole areas look too large, but it is great for the equator.
