General format:
7:00-8:00: Hands on activities of some kind. Could be a game I need to try out, or I might have an experiment or activity that relates to the topic we’ll be discussing.
8:00-9:30: Science content. Will often include a video (outdoors, like a drive-in) and then some discussion time. We can snack during this time.
9:30-10:30: Fun and games in the dark! (Planned games or activities)
If you can’t come for the whole evening, you are welcome to come for just one part listed above.
June 6th: Kick-off evening (rain date June 7th)
We’ll watch a recently-released movie called “The Horror of the Flood.” Many people don’t understand how earth-shattering (literally) the global flood was. It truly ripped the crust of the earth open. How? Come and find out! // I also want to hear your ideas for what topics you think would be interesting to get into. I’m comfortable with any topic.
Snack: I will provide supplies for us to make instant ice cream in a plastic bag. No kidding! I need to try out this idea for the food chemistry book I am writing.
Fun in the dark: I might recycle one of the ideas from last year that went over very well, or I might try something new. My ideas often include glow-in-the-dark items, for UV flashlights.
