Physics Labs I’ve Written (includes student text!)
Physics Labs I’ve Written
I wrote these labs to use with my own weekly science classes for homeschoolers. I don’t have time to write a whole curriculum at this point, just a few basic labs. The downloads below include both text and activities. Just start reading and then follow the activity instructions as you come to them. The only supplies you’ll need are very basic household items such as thread, coins, pins, paper clips, etc.
Target age group:
ages 10-15
I recommend doing the labs in the order listed below, but you are welcome to use them however you want to.
(When you click on the link it will take you directly to the PDF file for the lab, not to another description page.)
Physics craft: “Balancing Bird Toy”
This is an easy-to-make paper version of the plastic balancing bird toys sold by online toy stores. I designed it for a summer science fair I did recently and it was popular with both boys and girls from ages 2 to 13. It’s just one page, to be printed onto card stock paper.
